SUNNYVALE, Calif.-October 4, 2005-VaST Systems Technology Corporation, the embedded systems design automation company, will be presenting its family of tools and models for the creation of virtual system prototypes (VSPs) at Freescale Technology Forums in Paris, France and in Munich, Germany this month.

VaST VSPs are software simulation-based models of electronic systems and SoCs. The VSP is used for the development and evaluation of the system architecture as well as for concurrent hardware/software development. A VSP can include one or more virtual processors, buses, hardware peripheral components, and even models of mechanical subsystems that are part of the overall system. The VSP runs the same complied and linked target code as the real or prototype hardware, accurately predicting the system's real-world behavior. In addition, the VaST VSP is cycle-accurate, so that the model accurately portrays real-time, critical control system behavior.

The advantages of using a virtual system prototype of an embedded system design are multifold. They include the facilitation of architectural exploration and evaluation which - when coupled with the VSP's ability to act as an executable specification and golden reference model - lead to the concept of architecture-driven design. VaST users report cutting up to nine months from their development schedules when compared to using historical methods, tools and prototypes.

Please visit VaST at Booth 54 at the Freesacle Technology Forum in the Novotel Paris Tour Eiffel, Paris, France from October 11th to 12th: (http://www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/site/overview.jsp?nodeId=05257790368817). Or stop by Booth 48 at the Freescale Technology Forum in the Kempinski Hotel Airport Munich, Munich, Germany from October 19th to 20th: (http://www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/site/overview.jsp?nodeId=05257790363439).
